· MTDaily - Medical Transcription Site full of information about Medical Transcription. The site has online message boards. Some are Free; others cost a small fee to keep out the advertisers so that the boards stay clean of the trash that spammers can put on them. This site is well worth the time and money. They have been around for years.
· AAMT - This is a wonderful site for anyone that is looking into the Medical Transcription Career Field. It has information about being an MT, as well as when you have completed a course for Medical Transcription you can take it one step further and become a Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT). The testing is available through the AAMT. Not all MT's take the CMT Test; however there are many MT's that do become CMT's. If you are considering this then you will want to visit this site to read about becoming a CMT.
· MTJOBS- Medical Transcription Job Site - This is a Job site that is more for MT’s with 1 year experience or more. As many of you already know most doctors and hospitals will not post jobs online for New MTs with any prior experience. Those jobs are posted with the training companies, schools, etc. that do the job placement assistance as our course does. The reason that the jobs are posted they way for New MT’s is because with the thousands of thousands of people that are searching on the Internet daily, they would respond to any ad that said No Exp. not bothering to look to see what field the job was for. Therefore the office placing the ad would get swamped with resumes from people that never took an MT Course, and would send resumes in for jobs such as data entry, word processing, etc. The doctor’s office staff would have to sort through tons of those resumes to get to the real MTs that were new needing a job. To save all of this from going on, and not having enough staff to sort through all of the resumes that were not qualified they now place the open job ads directly to companies like ours and other courses that offer Job placement Assistance.
· WAHM- Work at Home Mothers - Online Web magazine with tons of information about working at home. This site has also been around for years! . I like to refer to this site as a FUN site! A lot of work at home moms and I am sure even some dads visit this site daily. They have message boards, work at home links, helpful information, and lots more.
· Breast Cancer Website - For those that are either dealing with breast cancer or know someone who is; this is a wonderful site to go to. There is a lot of information on top of chat rooms that are open 24/7 for those that just need to talk someone. It can be very scary to be going through breast cancer, or any kind of cancer and it helps sometimes to have someone to talk to even if they are online. To know there are other people that are going through the same thing you are also helps sometimes. There is also useful information about things you can do to take care of yourself during this tough time in your life. Of course getting plenty of rest and trying to avoid as much stress as possible is a must, however there are still other things you can do in addition to rest and avoiding stress. PREVENTION- For those of you that do NOT have breast cancer, yet have risks of it with a family member that did have breast cancer or other risks then you will want to visit this site. They have a great section about prevention and things that can be done to help decrease your risks of getting breast cancer.
