Careers in the healthcare field are continuing to grow strong!

This is one career that will always need qualified staff to fill open job positions. The fact is that people get sick every day all over the country and will need to see their physician. Others that have critical medical needs such as cancer patients will need continuing health care throughout their treatment plan. Let’s don't forget the fact that babies are born every day throughout the country! These new moms and babies will also need follow-up medical care.

There are many different types of careers in the healthcare industry. When a patient visits the doctor there are several steps that are required to make sure the patient is well taken care of and that the physician gets paid for seeing the patient.

These jobs include transcribing the dictation created by the doctor, this is known as medical transcription; billing the insurance companies so the physician can get paid which is known as medical billing and coding; to managing the medical office.

MTatHome has signed up with another company to offer additional courses in the healthcare field. These same courses are being used by many colleges across the country.

Our new courses in medical billing, medical coding, and medical office specialist are set up a little different than our medical transcription course.

The medical billing, medical coding and medical office specialist courses are online courses and do require access to the Internet. Our medical transcription course is a combination of both online and textbooks.

Because there are mandatory time frames for these online courses; students are allowed up to 12 months to complete the course. Most can finish the course in about 6 months. Of course this will depend on how much time you can put into the course each day/week.

You will have instructors that can help you if you have questions throughout your training.

Once you have passed your course MTatHome will assist you with your resume and job assistance. While we cannot guarantee anyone a job; we can assure you that your resume will be sent out to open job positions.

While many of the careers we train in can be done from home; some of them do require you to work at the office. For example; a Medical Office Specialist is a job that is done at the location of the medical facility. Some of the medical billing and coding jobs will also be done at the medical facility.

There are some people that are able to work at home doing medical billing and coding. However; it is important to point out that most of these people started out working at the doctor's office. Once you have worked for the medical facility for a while and have built trust with your employer they may then decide to allow you to work from home.

This is a great time to start your career in the medical field. We are seeing a rise in the percentage of people needing medical care. The medical field is a multi-billion dollar industry.

• Job Security -Due to the growing need for medical care for both the elderly and the younger generation there is always a need for qualified healthcare workers. Those that work in the healthcare field find they are less likely to be effected by the economy.
• Work from Home - Some of the jobs in the healthcare field will allow you to work at home right away or after working at the medical facility for a period of time.  While medical transcription jobs are normally done from home, medical billing / coding jobs usually require you to work at the office for a period of time before the employer will allow you to work at home.
• Income - One of the great benefits of working in the healthcare field is excellent pay. Most of the jobs in the healthcare field have great pay!
• Contribution - If you love to help people then you will love working in healthcare! Knowing that you have contributed to their medical record being accurate or that their medical bill is being billed correctly will leave you feeling great about the career you work in.

Our medical career school has open enrollment. You can enroll at any time and start your course once you receive your materials or when your student area login is set up. Some courses such as our Medical Transcription Course come with several textbooks which you would wait to receive before starting the course.

We do have payment plan options on our Medical Transcription Course.  However, our new courses do not have a payment plan option at this time.
