As many people know by now the Health Care Reform Bill was passed and signed into law.  There is a lot of controversy about this law of the pros and cons.  While we do not know how this bill will help things overall, we do know that the outlook for MTs is very good.

There are a lot of people that do not go see a doctor because they cannot afford it and do not have insurance.  Other’s that needed insurance could not get it because of previous medical conditions. This will all change soon.

May 17th – 23rd is the National Medical Transcriptionist Week for MTs in 2010

We want to take a moment and thank all of the Medical Transcriptionist that works so hard to make this career what it is today.  National Medical Transcriptionist Week celebrates all that MTs do to improve the health care documentation.

Those that do not do medical transcription many not know what lengths an MT will go through to get proper training, credentialed and to stay up with the current career field information.  The Medical Transcriptionist is the doctors second set of eyes to make sure that the correct medical terms are used, reports are transcribed properly and that SRT systems do not create error filled documents.

Congratulations to all of the MTs that work so hard in this career field and to those that may be currently training in medical transcription career.
