If you are considering working in the medical transcription career field; you might be on the right track! The US Department of labor says that this career is going to continue to grow over the next several years. Like many careers in the medical field, medical transcription is one of the hottest careers to choose from. This is because you have many MTs that have decided to retire along with decreasing workforce; this has created a huge shortage of medical transcriptionists. This opens up many opportunities for new MTs to get into the medical transcription business at just the right time. easier to start your own medical transcription business. Once you have the proper training you can start marketing for clients (doctors) to sign up with your transcription business. You would receive medical dictations from them and then transcribe these medical reports and return them to the doctor. Of course you would always check for accuracy before returning any reports. Some of you may not want to have your own business and may want to work directly for the doctor or medical transcription service. This is okay too! It does take a little time to get your foot in the door; but once you do you should stay as busy as you would like to. |
