FINAL TIPS for Working at Home 1. Do NOT work in an area where a TV is at. If there is a TV there; turn it off when working. 2. Try to have your desk / office area away from the rest of the family. You cannot work adequately if you have kids or their friends running in and out of the room every 5 minutes. Make it clear to your family that when the office door is shut that you are off limits unless it is important. This way your family will respect your work area and the time you are working. 3. Keep a well-organized work area. 4. Set a weekly schedule and stick to it.5. Stop working when you are supposed to and take time for yourself and your family. Do not keep working past your scheduled time. 6. Keep a rolodex of important clients’ phone numbers, email and address. 7. Set small goals and reach those before setting new ones. 8. Keep a task list on hand. Write down things that you might need to accomplish or do in the next several days and cross them off as they are done. 9. Remember to stretch and exercise. This is important to keep up your energy level and not become too sore from sitting at a computer for a long time. Also, keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water. This will help with your energy level as well. 10. Treat your home office as if you were getting up and going to work at an office every day.
