As mentioned above, one of the successes of a Transcriptionist is having the right personality for the job. Here are some of the qualities of a successful MT: ? Ability to work independently ? Expertise in terminology accuracy and transcription reports format ? Organizational Skills ? Self Motivated Will Medical Transcription be around for a long time? A Medical Transcriptionist transcribes dictation voice files from when patients visit their Dr., have tests done, etc. Therefore; as long as there are people that visit their Dr.'s, have medical tests done, surgeries, etc. there will be a need for Medical Transcriptionist in this career field! It would be nice to have a magic cure to keep people from getting sick; however that just is not the case. There are going to be people that go to the Dr. , that have medical tests, operations, admitted into the hospitals, etc. So the answer to this is YES! Medical Transcription will be around for a very, very long time. Software technology just can not match up to the quality and accuracy that a human Transcriptionist can do. The software voice recognitions that are out there take a very, very long time to train to the voice, words, spellings, etc. and even then they still will
