About our MTatHome Medical Transcription Training Program

MTatHome has been in business for 12 years helping people train to become successful MTs and work from their home office.

Our training program does not have a time limit on it.  You can take as long as you need to on your training.  Some finish sooner than others, this depends on the time you have to study, if you have prior experience or not, etc.

We have both online and offline support if you have questions regarding your training materials.  Access to the student area also comes with your course.

There is also an online message board for all of the MTatHome students to talk with one another. It is very important to network with other students and MTs through your training and career as an MT.

A Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT)—

To apply to for the CMT exam you do need to have more working experience as an MT.  A CMT requires that wait till you are working for 2 years as an MT before applying for the exam.

This is much like a Nurse going from a LVN to a RN.  There are different levels that you can move up to in your MT Career.

A CMT does require that you

take Continue Education online to keep up with your CMT.

They are not extensive, just something that helps all CMTs keep the qualifications they currently have and to continue improving their MT skills.

There are some MTs that do not move up to the RMT or CMT level, however we feel that if you have the opportunity to increase your

career level and you want to do so—then you should consider doing so.  For more information on becoming a CMT
