Air Desk - for Laptops or Desktop Computers - All I can say about this product is WOW! With the health challenges I have been dealing with that come along with the Cancer it was difficult to sit at a regular desk for too long of periods at a time. I looked for weeks on the Internet to find something that I could use that would keep the laptop off of my stomach yet be near me to be able to work.  Finally!! I came across this website that had just what I was looking for, it is called an air desk and you have to see the picture of it on their site to know what I am bragging about. This is the BEST thing I have ever seen.

You can sit in an office chair, recliners, couch, and can even use it to work at night from your own bed! The bar that holds the laptop tray and laptop will swing in to you and out away from you when you need to get up or are done working. It also will rise up as high as you need it or as low as you need it.

They also have one for a regular desktop computer, however I have to be honest I have not used this one therefore I can not say as to if I would like it or not. I am sure that I would, however I do not promote things I have not tired so i can not say honestly anything about the other products except for the laptop air desk and accessories for it such as the book holder, cup holder, etc.

The Air Desk is not that expensive and to me is worth every penny! I am NOT getting anything for referring this Air Desk, except the satisfaction that maybe someone will get it and enjoy it as much as I do.  2 of my friends that saw mine have already gone and ordered themselves one for their laptop.

If you work at home and do a lot of typing, let me tell you sitting in an office chair can get old really fast.  Don't get me wrong - you still need a quiet place to work from no matter where you are sitting. However, you can be comfortable while working in your quiet area as well. The other nice thing is that the laptop tray it sits securely on will tilt to the angle you need it to be which will help with not straining
your wrists when typing!
Ok. I have gone on enough about this product. I just wanted to let everyone know about it so that you can check it out.

· Typing Test Online - If you are wondering what your typing speed is, or the accuracy of your typing then you can go to this website to test your skills. This is a neat online test; you can choose your level of skills as well as pick the test you want to type. We recommend that anyone that is thinking of getting into Medical Transcription to test their typing skills. This way you will know if you need to take a typing tutor along with the Medical Transcription course that you choose to learn from. If you work hard at it and practice enough each week then you can raise your typing from a low wpm to a much higher wpm over a decent amount of time.  It does take being self disciplined enough to do the tutorial as often as needed, otherwise if you just do it every once in a while you will not raise your wpm very fast at all. We do recommend this online typing test to test your skills.

· State Do Not Call Lists. If you get calls from Telemarketers all the time and can not seem to get the calls to stop, then you will want to visit this site! Once your name and number is on the list they can not call your number for any telemarketing. It can take a little while from the time you add your name and number till when the calls stop coming in.  Therefore, the sooner you put your name on the list the sooner the calls will stop coming in.  This page provides links for different states so that you can sign up on your state's “Do Not Call List.”

· http://www.drugs.com —Drugs.com- This is a Drug Information Resource Website. It will be useful to both professionals and for personal reference to find information on different medications. The site also has a pill identifier, which can help you identify a pill you might find in the bottom of a purse, medicine cabinet, etc. You can also find information on drug interactions on the site as well.

· MTDesk -  MTDesk is a website that is very useful for those who are in the Medical Transcription career field. There are glossaries of Medical Terms, Links to other resources, MT Chat and much more. We recommend checking this site out if you have not already been there.

· Grammar Guide -  If you are needing to brush up on your grammar or writing skills this is the site for you!  It is a very neat site that has many different options to choose from on areas of grammar from low level to a much more advanced level. It seems that some things are like riding a bike that you just never forget no matter how many years it has been, and other things have to be used often to remember how to do them.  Grammar seems to be one of those things with most people that unless you use it all the time with writing skills it can be forgotten about.  Most people just need to brush up on the grammar skills and then it starts coming back to them. Of course if you need further practice there are all kinds of choices that could keep you busy for awhile on this website.

· Start Stop - Digital Transcriber Foot Pedal Machine and Accessories.  MTatHome gives Start Stop a high recommendation for both their products and their service to their customers!  We have recommended this company for years to our students for the digital transcriber machine and other products they sale. Their customer service that they give to their customers is wonderful. Because we have sent so many students to their site they have put up a page just for our students letting them know which machines are best for our course. If you are a student or even an MT that is going from tape to digital transcription then you might want to visit Start Stop to view their products.

If you know of a site that you feel would be useful to those that work out of their homes in medical transcription or even another work at home field that is similar such as word processing, web design, etc. Then please email the link with a description of the site along with your name and email address to: links@mtathome.com with Link Suggestion for MTatHome in the subject line so that it does not get mistaken as junk email and get deleted.

We hope that the links page has been useful .  We try to do our best to help our students become as successful as they can be in their work at home career. If you are not a student and are considering medical transcription then please be sure to do your research of both the Career and the Training Courses that are available. Just make sure that the course is for Digital Transcription and NOT Tape Transcription as tapes have been fading out of the picture for the most part for several years. Most MT’s are transcribing with digital, there is a low percentage of MT’s transcribing with the tapes now days.  Be sure to check our site often, we do run different sales on our site often to help customers to save money on their career training.
