Most of the time when an MT works for a Medical Transcription Service they will make a little less per character line, which averages out to less per hour / year.
The reason for this is because the physicians will pay the service a certain amount per character line or job. Then the service will pay the MT a certain amount for the work they do. However, the service has to make money as well so the MT does make a lower percentage most of the time by using a Medical Transcription Service.

A Medical Transcriptionist can make good money working from home. However, your medical transcription salary can range to different pay figures depending on several things. There are different ways to work as a Medical Transcriptionist from home. You can choose to get your own clients and work directly for them or you can choose to sign up with a Medical Transcription Service who will have many physicians that give them work that the service will then divide out between the MTs that work for their service.
When you work for your clients (physicians) directly you will normally make more money per character line which averages out to more per hour / year. |
